It is hard to believe, but another school year is wrapping up. All of my exams are done and now I just have 2 days of teacher "stuff." This also means that summer is getting ready to start, and I am excited about this. I am excited that I will finally be able to see my family and friends. I will be able to go home and just relax and see the people that I love. I will get to go to fun places, nothing as exciting as Malta though, and I get a break from the classroom. I really do love what I do. I enjoy working with the students and seeing them learn and grow. However, there comes a point where I need a break. I need to relax and do something besides school stuff, I need to see people that aren't students.

People say, "It must be nice to have 2 months off..." However, they don't understand how much I work to get those 2 months off. I work 5 days a week and almost always have things I need to do on the weekends. I don't get to just leave when the students do...I have to know what is going to happen the next day and figure out how I want things to work. I have to get papers graded and things copied...and for 10 months, it doesn't stop. So, althought I get "2 months off" there will be part of that time that gets focused on school once again. Trying to figure out what I want the next year to be like, and what I want for my students.

So for now I will enjoy my summer. I will take my trips to North Carolina and to Michigan and possibly New York and I will enjoy that time. I will be happy I am out of Memphis and I will enjoy ever moment with my friends and family. That is what I hope for this summer.
